There are no road closures in the City of Goleta at this time, and our creeks held up nicely during this recent storm.
US 101 southbound is open in Santa Barbara through Ventura.
SR 154, US 101 NB in Carpinteria, and US 101 NB at Winchester in Goleta are still closed.

The National Weather Service has extended the flash flood warning until midnight tonight. City of Goleta Mayor Paula Perotte wants to encourage community members to avoid traveling if at all possible. She said, “This is not a good time to be driving due to flooded roadways and unsafe driving conditions. Stay home if you can and be safe.”
Freeway & Road Closures
There are a number of freeway closures in Santa Barbara County:
- Northbound 101 closed at Winchester Canyon due to closure at Gaviota.
- Southbound 101 closed at Milpas St. and traffic is being detoured off the freeway.
- Northbound 101 closed at State Route 150 near Carpinteria with on-ramps closed up to Sheffield Drive.
- Highway 154 closed in both directions.
- Expect flooding along sections of the Northbound 101 throughout Summerland and Montecito, with intermittent closures and on/offramp closures.
Within the City of Goleta, currently Robin Hill Road north of Hollister Avenue is closed due to flooding.

Airport Closure
The Santa Barbara Airport is closed due to flooding and flights are temporarily cancelled.
School Closures
The Goleta and Santa Barbara Unified School Districts have cancelled school tomorrow, January 10, 2023.
MTD Service:
Santa Barbara MTD bus service will be suspended as of 6:00 p.m. tonight, Monday, January 9, 2023. Service is expected to resume around noon on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. The public should stay tuned to MTD’s Twitter feed at www.twitter.com/santabarbaramtd for updates on service.
