Today, a male surfer was found unconscious in the ocean between Campus Point and Goleta Beach. According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, a fellow surfer pulled the unconscious surfer from the water and performed bystander CPR until firefighters arrived. Despite resuscitation efforts by the surfer and SBC Fire Medics, the patient was pronounced deceased.
The incident occurred at around 3:30 pm and involved a cardiac arrest, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
