    Goleta Median Home Selling Value Decreases

    According to the recently released August Data Dashboard from the Santa Barbara South Coast Chamber of Commerce, the median home selling value in Goleta has decreased 3.2% from a year ago.

    The chamber’s July 2022 numbers show that in Goleta, the current median home selling value is $1,392,700 compared to $1,439,250 a year ago, a $46,550 decrease or -3.2%.

    Overall the south coast saw an increase in its median home selling value at $1,895,000 this year, compared to $1,639,000 a year ago, a $256,000 increase or 15.6%.

    Single-family home sales in Goleta are down 8.4%, with 163 homes sold compared to 178 last year.

    The median apartment rent on the south coast was up 11.6% at $2,293 compared to $2,054 last year, with a vacancy rate of 1.9%.

    Goleta saw only two residential building permits issued to date, a 100% increase over last year.

    For commercial real estate in Goleta, the current office vacancy rate is at 5.8%, a decrease of 0.4% from a year ago, and the industrial vacancy rate is at 2.8%, a decrease of 2.8% from a year ago.
