    Flood Watch Issued for Santa Barbara County Beginning Tonight, December 19

    The National Weather Service has issued a FLOOD WATCH for all of Santa Barbara County from tonight, December 19, 2023 at 10PM until Friday morning, December 22, 2023. We are expecting significant rainfall and encourage community members to avoid traveling if at all possible.

    The City of Goleta is in close communication with our local emergency officials and is monitoring storm impacts. We will provide updates as they relate to Goleta.

    If you are experiencing an emergency, call 9-1-1. To report storm-related damage, please use City Assist at http://cityofgoleta.org/cityassist.

    As a reminder, sandbags are available in Goleta at Fire Station 11 (6901 Frey Way and Storke Road) and Fire Station 14 (320 Los Carneros Road).

    As a safety precaution, stay away from rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Those living in areas prone to flooding, should stay aware of changing conditions and be prepared to take protective actions, such as going to the innermost room of your home or to higher ground such as a second floor.
